NEON & ILLUMINATED ART, SCULPTURE & SITE SPECIFIC PROJECTS

I began working with illuminated glass (neon) in 1980 when, while building an exterior, site specific, earth-work, I lit the piece from within using green neon tubing. The work came at a time in my life when I was gravely ill and created a sense of hope and warmth through the chill of Winter and illness. This experience firmly rooted me in the art of light, and it’s power to emotionally influence the viewer.

All of my illuminated work involves an interest in the stress created by reflective materials combined with illuminated glass tubing, and explores reflected and hidden light.

I delight in collaborative work,  I enjoy the social aspect and the open exchange of creativity.
